Interface overview
Redline is built around a collapsible sidebar, a topbar, and content area. Here is what you will find in each section.
Sidebar navigation
Section titled “Sidebar navigation”The sidebar (220px expanded, 60px collapsed) provides access to all areas:
| Section | Pages |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | KPI overview, active ECOs, overdue actions, upcoming phase-ins |
| Change Requests | ECR list with status filters, create new ECR |
| Engineering | EC list, EC detail with Engineering Change Details tab (BOM upload + attachments), BOM comparison, and approval workflow |
| ECOs | ECO list with status filters, ECO detail with five tabs |
| Tasks | Your open action items (department users) or all tasks (coordinators) |
| ERP Data | ERP Data Hub, Item Master, Stock Levels, Open POs, Production Orders, Supplier Items |
| Audit | Full audit trail with filters and expandable JSON diffs |
| Settings | Numbering, departments, action templates, users, ERP connector config |
The sidebar state (expanded/collapsed) is persisted. In collapsed mode, you see icons with tooltips.
A theme toggle at the bottom of the sidebar lets you switch between dark mode, light mode, and auto (follows your system preference). When the sidebar is collapsed, a single icon shows the opposing theme — click to switch.
Search and export
Section titled “Search and export”Every list page (Changes, Engineering, ECOs, Audit, and all ERP data pages) includes a search bar at the top. Type to filter results across all visible columns. An info icon (ⓘ) inside the search bar shows which columns are searchable.
All ERP data pages (Items, Stock Levels, Open POs, Production Orders, Supplier Items) include an Export button that downloads the current view as a CSV file matching the upload template format — useful for auditing or sharing data offline.
Filters and pagination
Section titled “Filters and pagination”All list pages use multi-select filter dropdowns — click a filter to open a dropdown with checkboxes. Select multiple values, use Select All, or Clear Selection. Active filters show a red border and display the selected count. A “Clear all” link resets every filter at once.
Change Requests, Engineering Changes, and ECOs include an Archived toggle (eye icon) to show or hide archived records.
Tables with more than 50 rows display a pagination bar fixed at the bottom of the visible area. Column headers remain sticky while scrolling.
Dashboard
Section titled “Dashboard”The dashboard shows four KPI cards at a glance:
| KPI | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Active ECOs | Count of ECOs in Released or In Progress status |
| Completion | Percentage of action items completed across all active ECOs |
| Overdue | Count of action items past their due date |
| Upcoming phase-ins | Items phasing in within the next 14 days |
Below the KPIs, three tables show active ECOs with progress bars, overdue actions with days-overdue counts, and upcoming phase-in dates with conflict indicators.
Coordinators also see a change request task queue showing submitted ECRs awaiting review.
Inside an ECO — the five tabs
Section titled “Inside an ECO — the five tabs”An ECO detail view has five tabs. Each tab corresponds to a stage of the coordination process.
| Tab | What you do here |
|---|---|
| Overview | ECO header — title, strategy, status, linked ECR, release history and timestamp. |
| Affected Items | View all items with change type badges, ERP enrichment (stock, POs, production orders), and conflict status. |
| Phase-In | Run and review phase-in calculations. Collapsible per-item accordion with AI reasoning, ERP data, and override controls. |
| Action List | Generate, review, and edit the AI-produced department action list. Department-grouped accordion with completion counters. |
| History | Full audit trail — every status change, field edit, and notification event, with actor and timestamp. |
ERP Data Hub
Section titled “ERP Data Hub”The ERP Data Hub is the central page for managing your ERP data connection:
- Upload cards for each data type (Items, Stock, POs, Production Orders, Supplier Items)
- BOM snapshots table showing import history with validation status
- Import modal with CSV upload, column mapping, and error reporting
From here, you can drill into individual pages for Item Master, Stock Levels, Open POs, Production Orders, and Supplier Items. Each page supports search, filtering, pagination, and CSV export.
The Item Master page includes a type filter dropdown for narrowing by item type (MAKE, BUY, ASSEMBLY, PHANTOM, DUMMY).
The Item Detail page shows a single item’s full profile: stock by warehouse, open POs, production orders, supplier items, and where-used analysis across BOMs.
Audit trail
Section titled “Audit trail”The Audit page shows every business event across all ECRs, ECs, and ECOs:
- Filter by object type, event type, date range, and user
- Expandable rows show JSON diffs (before/after state comparison)
- Export to CSV for compliance reporting
Status badges
Section titled “Status badges”ECOs and ECRs move through defined statuses. Each status has a colour-coded badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being prepared. Not yet visible to action owners. |
| Released | Published. N1 notifications sent. Action owners can see their tasks. |
| In Progress | At least one action item has been acknowledged or started. |
| Verified | All actions complete. Coordinator has signed off. |
| Closed | Formally closed. Read-only. |
