Track & close
After release, the coordinator monitors action item progress and closes the ECO when all departments have completed their work.
Tracking progress
Section titled “Tracking progress”The ECO’s Action List tab shows all actions grouped by department. Each action item has a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | Not yet started |
| Acknowledged | Assignee has seen the action |
| In progress | Work underway |
| Done | Completed |
| Skipped | Not applicable — coordinator decided to skip |
| Blocked | Cannot proceed — needs escalation |
Department users update their action status directly. They can do this in two ways:
- In Redline — update the status dropdown on the Tasks page
- By email — click the one-click response button in the N1 notification email (no login required, token-based authentication)
The Tasks page
Section titled “The Tasks page”Department users see their open action items on the Tasks page. Coordinators can view all tasks across all departments on the All Tasks page with filters for:
- Department
- Status
- Priority
- Assignee
- Due date
The sidebar shows a badge with the count of open tasks for the current user.
Notification escalation
Section titled “Notification escalation”Redline automatically follows up on incomplete actions:
| Tier | Trigger | Who is notified |
|---|---|---|
| N1 — Release | ECO released | Department assignees |
| N2 — Reminder | Action still open after configurable delay (default: 48 hours) | Same assignees |
| N3 — Escalation L2 | Action still open after escalation_level2_days | Coordinator + department head |
| N3 — Escalation L3 | Action still open after escalation_level3_days | Operations director |
Thresholds are configurable per tenant in Settings.
Verification
Section titled “Verification”If verification_step_required is enabled in your tenant settings, the coordinator must verify the ECO before closing. This is a confirmation that the change was implemented correctly in the physical product and ERP system.
Closing the ECO
Section titled “Closing the ECO”When all action items are in a terminal state (done, skipped, or blocked) and verification is complete (if required):
effective_to date (phase-out), added items get an effective_from date (phase-in), revised and quantity-changed items close the old line and open a new one.Audit trail
