Submit a change request
Any logged-in user can create an ECR. The process takes 2–5 minutes if you have the details ready.
Create the ECR
Section titled “Create the ECR”1
Open the Change Requests page
Navigate to Change Requests in the sidebar and click New ECR.
2
Fill in the required fields
Enter a clear title, a description explaining the reason for the change, select the trigger source, classification (emergency / major / minor), and severity (critical / high / medium / low). Optionally assign a coordinator and responsible engineer.
3
Add affected items (optional)
Specify the parts or assemblies impacted by this change. Enter the item reference, description, BOM level, source (make / buy / assembly / phantom), quantity, and unit of measure. When you add a top-level assembly, Redline automatically pulls in child items from your ERP data.

6
Submit
Click Submit to send the ECR for review. The status changes from Draft to Submitted and the coordinator is notified.
