Notifications & follow-up

Redline has three automated notification triggers. Nothing else is sent automatically in the current version.

IDTriggerRecipientsPurpose
N1ECO status changes to ReleasedAll action owners across all departmentsInform and assign — “you have an action”
N2Action remains Open 48 hours after N1Action owner onlyReminder — “you haven’t acknowledged yet”
N3Due date passes with action not DoneAction owner + engineering managerEscalation — “this is overdue”

The ECO published email is designed to be fully actionable without logging in to Redline:

  • ECO reference, title, and phase-in date — always above the fold
  • Affected items table — filtered to items relevant to the recipient’s department only
  • Numbered action list — one line per action with verb, ERP reference, quantity, and due date
  • Response buttons — Acknowledge, Mark as In Progress, Open Redline

Each response button calls a secure signed endpoint. Clicking it updates the action status in Redline without requiring the recipient to log in.
